All women and children have the right to a secure living environment where they can feel safe. Libra House provides temporary crisis shelter and related services for woman and children who are experiencing relationship violence, including physical, sexual, financial, mental, psychological, socioeconomic or emotional abuse. Happy Valley-Goose Bay is like the ‘hub’ of Labrador, so our location allows us to provide services to women who may be relocating in and out of this area of the region.
Empowering Women to Be Strong
At Libra House, our friendly and experienced staff members provide temporary crisis shelter in a cooperative and communal living arrangement. Our team works to empower women like you to make their own decisions and be independent for themselves and their children. With various other organizations in the area, we offer off-site empowerment groups for women.
24/7 Emergency Support Line
On average our team provides shelter to 81 families each year and our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have a 24 hour crisis support line so do not hesitate to call us and learn about your options.
